Foothills Caring Corps' Programs
We are dedicated to promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for older residents throughout our Community. We do this through a force of volunteers and staff who deliver services and support that provide access to basic needs such as food, medical care, and activities that promote physical, mental and emotional health.
The geographic services area includes:
SERVICES AVAILABLE
Volunteers serve homebound and/or disabled persons, 18 years of age and older. There is no financial eligibility.
In Home Services
Weekly Visits
We visit the home(s) of our "neighbors" for an hour or two each week. If they are mobile, visits can include taking the person out for a ride or to lunch.
Mobile Meals
Our "neighbors" are provided good nutrition through the delivery of week-day lunch time meals. This delivery coupled with a short visit always brightens their day. The meals are provided through Carefree Resort & Villas.
Caregiver Relief
Foothills Caring Corps provides in-home visits to homebound "neighbors", allowing their daily caregiver a much needed break.
Business Help
"Neighbors" in need of assistance with opening mail, reading correspondence, and paying bills benefit from the help and support of our volunteers.
Minor Home Repair
Volunteers perform simple home repairs such as changing light bulbs or smoke detector batteries, patching a screen door, or caulking a window.
Intake
Visit with individuals and families to determine which services can be offered through Foothills Caring Corps and refer to other services as needed.
Transportation Services
Van Program
The Foothills Caring Corps van program is one of our most popular programs. This program transports "neighbors" to shopping, lunch outings, movies, libraries, bingo, concerts and more.
Medical Transportation Volunteers provide our "neighbors" with transportation to medical appointments, accompany them inside, and return them home after their appointment.
Grocery Shopping
"Neighbors" are accompanied by volunteers to the grocery store and enjoy help with shopping, or our volunteers shop for those who can't get out, assist with carrying bags into the home, and with unloading and storing groceries.
