Pictures of the week: 7/3/17
Nancy Kiskis: I used my iPhone with the panorama feature ( iPhone 7) . The colors were not filtered- thats what it looked like that night. The day had been very warm ( for us- not like your heat) and a thunderstorm was thinking about coming in . We face east so that was the sun setting behind the mountain and reflecting in the clouds. Everything had a violet hue and the dark strip along the lakeshore across the lake was actually deep purple. The sun was just shining on the mountains slightly but the snow was glowing pink on the tops of the mountains. We frequently get “alpenglow” which is what we call that pink mauve tone but that night it was really reflecting in the lake. I did crop the original a little so I will send the uncropped version also. I am also sending a winter sunset from last year….that one is not filtered at all…it really was bright pink…amazing!
